Triumph signs local tennis standouts Charlotte Cartledge and Frank Thompson

[Blacksburg, VA, January 12, 2023] Triumph NIL today announced the signing of Charlotte Cartledge and Frank Thompson to a Name, Image, and Likeness’ (NIL) contracts. Triumph, a NIL sports marketing agency, develops custom partnerships for collegiate student-athletes with members of the business community, supporters, and fans. The group specializes in building meaningful business relationships that meet all NCAA compliance and State legal criteria. Cartledge and Thompson are both products of the New River Valley tennis scene.

Cartledge, a sophomore, earned seven wins in 15 singles matches last season, including a five-match ACC winning streak. She earned ACC Freshman of the Week honors following a standout performance against Lousiville in which she earned the clinching point for the Hokies. A native of Roanoke, VA, Cartledge was a two-time high school state champion at Northcross High School and the #1 ranked prospect in Virginia.

“I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Triumph NIL,” said Cartledge. “As a student-athlete, the experience has been very positive and professional. I’m excited to continue to represent and expand my name, image, and likeness in collaboration with Triumph!”

Thompson, a redshirt sophomore from Blacksburg, VA, is preparing for his first season of action for the men’s tennis team this Spring. He joined the Hokies program as the #1 ranked prospect in Virginia and the #2 ranked prospect in the Mid-Atlantic region. The two-time VHSL class 4 state singles title and the Timesland Player of the Year. Thompson is the USTA 16-under national doubles champion and winner of the 16-under Easter Bowl Championship.
